The President of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik, attended today in Banja Luka the farewell ceremony for the Republic of Srpska delegation to the BRICS Games in the Russian Federation.
The President Dodik wished success to the athletes who will represent their country for the first time under the flag and anthem of the Republic of Srpska at these sports games.
“Thank you for being part of this historic moment. What no one will ever take away from you is that you are the first delegation of the Republic of Srpska to participate in this competition. Do not back down from anyone, be proud. From the Republic of Srpska, you will have every form of support”, the President Dodik emphasized.
The President highlighted that this is truly a historic occasion, the fact that the Republic of Srpska is participating at the representative level in the BRICS Games, the most important global organization of countries in every sense.
The President Dodik stressed that these games serve as a prelude to what will happen politically at the BRICS summit in October.
“Therefore, it is important for us to be part of that structure. By this, we do not relinquish other opportunities”, the President Dodik said.
The President of the Republic thanked the people from the Russian Federation who facilitated the invitation, as well as the relevant ministry and the Government of the Republic of Srpska for enabling the athletes’ participation.
“I wish you every possible success. We will ensure that every moment of your participation is broadcast on our television, and we will arrange this in the coming period. We want you to gain additional self-confidence there”, the President Dodik emphasized.
The President of Srpska highlighted that cooperation, peace, and sports among people are what is needed.
The President of the Republic presented the Republic of Srpska flag to the team captain and expressed his wish that they achieve the best possible results under it and that it serves as a motivation for them, to return it honorably to the Republic of Srpska.
“We will remain eternally grateful to you for being our first representatives. I am proud, my heart is as great as Russia!” the President Dodik concluded.
