The President of the Government of the Republic of Srpska, Radovan Višković, and the Chief Manager of MASCO Group from Saudi Arabia, Rade Đorđević, today in Banja Luka signed a memorandum for the construction of a solar power plant in Bijeljina.

The planned solar power plant will have a capacity of 60 megawatts and will be built on land owned by the Republic of Srpska, specifically by the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Srpska.

The Prime Minister Višković emphasized that this memorandum marks the initial step in cooperation with this group, expressing the aspiration of Srpska’s institutions to realize significantly larger projects in the future, primarily related to road infrastructure and projects involving the use of hydrogen as a fuel for heavy machinery.

The Prime Minister Višković thanked MASCO Group for choosing the Republic of Srpska as an investment destination, attributing this choice to a favorable business environment and tax incentives, confirming Srpska as the best place for investments.

During the meeting, discussions were held regarding potential cooperation on projects related to the construction of Corridor 5C, a bypass around Banja Luka, and the reconstruction of the low-voltage network throughout the Republic of Srpska, where MASCO Group, through its funds, is in a position to offer the most favorable financial resources.

Rade Đorđević, the Chief Manager of MASCO Group, highlighted that this group comprises nine companies that have implemented numerous projects worldwide. He thanked the Prime Minister Višković and emphasized that the solar power plant project in Bijeljina is a result of successful cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Srpska. He particularly noted the favorable business environment in Srpska and openness to foreign investments, expressing confidence that cooperation will expand to other projects in the future. The signing of the memorandum was also attended by Minister of Energy and Mining, Petar Đokić.
