The President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik has attended today the marking of the 81st anniversary of the Battle of Kozara.
The President of the Republic of Srpska said that Mount Kozara became a lighthouse and a bell tower from where light and bells spread to all Serb sides even today, when the struggle is still going on.
The President Dodik reminded that he has been coming to this mountain for years to tell the truth and that freedom has always been a guiding principle.
“The bare-handed people considered it more honorable to die for freedom than to be in the camps. We are celebrating the fact that we survived. It is difficult to talk about victory when half the people disappeared, but let's assume that the fact that we are gathering is proof that they did not win and did not succeed in their intention to make us disappear from these areas. We survived because we fought,” said the President of the Republic.
The President of the Republic of Srpska cautioned that this nation will not forget the orders given to the enemy when they marched to Kozara in 1942 that the special goal was to kill men aged 14 to 50, and that these were children.
“The enemy knew that if they did not destroy the urge for freedom in the newborn Serb, they would never rule this area. All the activity of the descendants of their ancestors is to prevent Serbia and Srpska from being united in anything, but it is difficult for them to prevent us from commemorating our sufferings, so they are nowhere, neither yesterday in Bratunac, nor today in Kozara, they are ashamed to let their foot set here today”, added the President Dodik.
