A festive parade was held today in Banja Luka to mark the Day of the Republic of Srpska.
The President of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik, stated that the Serbian people have the right to celebrate their Republic Day, and those who attempt to deny it will not succeed.
“The Republic of Srpska has a splendid people”, said the President.
The President Dodik thanked everyone present today for showing that Serbs are united, that they respect and love each other.
“The Republic of Srpska, organized and disciplined, celebrates its birthday, wishing no harm to anyone”, emphasized the President.
The President Dodik highlighted that the Republic of Srpska has made significant progress, has existed for 32 years, and reminded that 30,000 Serbs sacrificed their lives for it, urging always to remember them when making decisions.
“Freedom for us is not a philosophy but a way of life; freedom is what we need, we don't need colonizers or tutors. This people have never allowed themselves to live enslaved”, conveyed the President of the Republic.
The President stated that if the celebration of January 9th were to be banned, it would mean that “we are gone, that we have fallen”.
“Those who think there won't be the Republic should be with us these days. We know that some believe what we show here is insignificant, but I tell them that this is everything”, stated the President Dodik, adding that the Republic of Srpska does not seek any conflicts and will not lead them.
