The President of the Republic of Srpska, Željka Cvijanović, and the Minister of Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society of the Republic of Srpska, Srđan Rajčević, have visited the Academy of Arts of the University of Banja Luka today.
The President of the Republic of Srpska said that the Government of the Republic of Srpska provided institutional support to public universities, and that about 51 million KM had been invested in their development in the previous three years.
The President Cvijanović stated that those investments included the construction and reconstruction of the faculty facilities, as well as student dormitories.
“We have paid great attention to that and I am glad that results of the work of the university members were successful. One of them is the fact that last year the Academy of Arts of the University of Banja Luka recorded a record number of enrolled both domestic and foreign students”, said the President of the Republic.
The President of Srpska also pointed out that this information confirmed that this academy was affirmed and well positioned within the higher education system in the Republic of Srpska.
“In the next period, we will continue to direct funds to improve the work of the Academy, and we are witnesses that we have already started this process by introducing various contents”, said the President Cvijanović.
The President of the Republic of Srpska emphasized the importance of students and professors being satisfied with conditions of study and work, and stated that in the coming period there would be certain adaptations and realization of obligations undertaken in the previous period.
“I am pleased to see today that a good organization of work has been established in this higher education institution, but also synergy between the teaching staff and our future artists, who could be already called artists, given their works of art we saw today”, said the President of the Republic.
