The President of the Republic of Srpska, Željka Cvijanović has met today with the leadership of the municipality of Ugljevik.
The President of the Republic said that there would be no development of local communities if there was no good cooperation with authorities of the Republic, and announced the continuation of investments from the Office of the President of the Republic in school facilities and in a joint fight to improve living conditions in rural areas.
The President Cvijanović said that the traffic infrastructure was discussed at the meeting with the municipal leadership, and added that the Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Srpska, Nedeljko Ćorić, should visit Ugljevik soon.
The President of Srpska stated that the municipality benefited greatly from the Thermal Power Plant, considering that a large part of the local budget funds came from the rent from that company, which was a large employer and due to which this area lived steadily.
“We have been interested in how things were going regarding the rehabilitation and adaptation of certain school buildings. The mayor informed me that those were, more or less, in good condition, and that there were mostly rural schools here that functioned well. It is also our concern that living conditions in rural areas improve or equalize with the living conditions of people in urban areas. We are together on that task”, stated the President of the Republic.
The President Cvijanović emphasized that there would be allocations from the Office of the President of the Republic for school facilities in the following period.
“I am happy that new places are being opened in the kindergarten, which is necessary for the local community with a solid number of employed people”, said the President of Srpska.
