The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović has organised a reception in the Palace of the Republic today for the semifinalists of the basketball cup of the Republic of Srpska in the men’s and women’s categories.
The President of the Republic stated that institutions of the Republic of Srpska were determined to support sports in the Republic of Srpska with certain funds, in addition to the regularly planned support.
„We are trying to participate in the support through various interventions, apart from the Government and the relevant ministry”, said the President Cvijanović, emphasizing that she was proud of this patronage and all the results achieved by the athletes of the Republic of Srpska.
The President of the Republic called on all levels of government – local communities, the Government of the Republic of Srpska and citizens to pay more attention to sports and how important it was to nurture generations of athletes in the Republic of Srpska.
The President of Srpska said that the support and respect of institutions should go to all those participating in sports and sports events at competitions, regardless of the results.
“My support always goes to people who play sports in other ways, and these are sports workers who contribute to the functioning of clubs, and who are committed and dedicated, gathering our young talents so that sports life can be performed smoothly”, said the President of the Republic of Srpska.
