The President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik stated that the visit of the Chinese President Xi Jinping to Belgrade represents a significant event for Serbia and Serbs as a whole.
“China nurtures great friendship towards Serbia and provides substantial support to the Serbian people”, the President Dodik remarked today in Belgrade, where he attended an official lunch marking the visit of the Chinese President.
The President Milorad Dodik emphasized that the President Xi Jinping is one of the most important and influential figures globally, and that he stated today that the Chinese and Serbian people will be partners in their shared future.
The President Dodik also underscored that the visit of the Chinese President is a major diplomatic success of Serbia, primarily of the President Aleksandar Vučić.
The President Dodik expressed his honor in being present at the Palace of Serbia in Belgrade today and attending the official lunch on the occasion of the Chinese President’s visit.
He noted that various issues were discussed in such an atmosphere, highlighting that the President Xi nurtures deep friendship towards Serbia and the Serbian people as a whole.
“I could confirm that he clearly expressed support for the Serbian people and Serbia through the UN system and wherever Serbia and Serbian people may need it”, the President Dodik said.
“I thank the President Aleksandar Vučić for enabling me today, on behalf of the Republic of Srpska, to sit at the central table together with the Presidents Vučić and Xi, and to exchange opinions in discussions concerning economics, politics, and global processes and relations, listening more to the President Xi, which is always the most important”, the President Milorad Dodik stated.
The President of the Republic of Srpska pointed out that this is one of the most important people in the world, individuals who determine the principle of shared futures.
“Here, we saw and heard from the President Xi that Serbia and the Serbian people, who have hitherto been China’s most important strategic partners, are today partners for a shared future, which I appreciate”, the President Dodik said.
He added that, to his understanding of politics, this is of the utmost importance for China and the policies it pursues and projects it implements here.
The President Dodik reminded that many projects are being implemented in the Republic of Srpska in cooperation with Chinese companies and that this was an opportunity to present this to the President of China.
“More than 1.8 billion euros worth of contracts have been agreed upon or will be contracted for the execution of works, from building highways, hydroelectric power plants, to the hospital in Doboj, which is set to start operating this or next month”, the President Milorad Dodik said.
The President of the Republic of Srpska stated that this was done in the best interest of the Republic of Srpska and China, which understands such projects.
“When I greeted the President, he knew perfectly well that I am the President of the Republic of Srpska”, the President Milorad Dodik said.
“With a policy of moderation and development and relations towards others, which they promote, the future of the world has a chance. Some from the West seek subordinates, not partners, even impose their philosophy, their views on the interests of states at a specific location. Here we see something completely different”, the President Dodik said.
The President of the Republic of Srpska added that discussions focused on what could be a common interest, what projects could be jointly implemented and successful.
The President Dodik said that Western propaganda created a story about how it is difficult with China and asked why the French President Emmanuel Macron wanted to establish a strategic partnership with China just yesterday, even the entire Europe.
“Macron’s statement is known that good relations with China are of essential importance to the EU. So why should our relations be marginal? Why do you reproach us if we have good relations, we do have good relations”, the President Dodik stated.
The President Dodik noted that this was a really good day and that he was pleased that Xi, at the official lunch, said that Serbia and the Serbian people can count on China’s full support in international, multilateral, and other organizations like the UN.
The President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik stated that Serbia and the Serbian people will have China’s support in the UN regarding the resolution on Srebrenica.
“China is a permanent member of the UN Security Council, and we are always grateful for the fact that in 2016, together with Russia, it was against the resolution on Srebrenica because it assessed it as pure politics”, the President Milorad Dodik said.
The President of the Republic of Srpska emphasized that the attempt to put the resolution on Srebrenica on the agenda of the UN General Assembly is a political matter that comes from the West.
“It is not an original story of political Sarajevo, which is just an executor of works. Those who do this want to wash their dirty conscience by inventing lies and intrigues about the Serbian people who has always been liberator, never attacked anyone and brought freedom to other peoples”, the President Dodik said.
The President of the Republic of Srpska pointed out that the claims that the resolution on Srebrenica does not represent condemnation of the Serbian people are falsehoods.
“When you read the resolution, you see that it demands that UN member states emphasize the event in Srebrenica in their educational programs”, the President Dodik said, adding that a horrific crime occurred in Srebrenica, not genocide.
The President of the Republic of Srpska emphasized that China will be on the side of Serbia and the Serbian people through multilateral organizations such as the UN.
“It is very important that both China and Russia are on the side of the Serbian people, and there will be more countries. Out of the total population on the planet, there are more than five billion people whose political representatives will not support such a thing”, the President Dodik said.
The President of the Republic of Srpska stated that America, Britain, and Germany still behave like hegemons, while China, despite having great strategic power, does not impose itself as a hegemon but as a partner.
“It should be known that China has been in some form of isolation for decades, has lifted its economy in the past ten years, and together with Russia and Brazil, South Africa, India, formed BRICS, which has now doubled”, the President Dodik added.
The President of the Republic of Srpska reminded that after visiting Serbia, the Chinese President travels to Budapest, where cooperation between Hungary and China will be promoted.
“Both Serbia and Hungary are our true friends, not just partners. I am pleased that Srpska is present alongside Hungary, Serbia, and China, which speaks in favor of our efforts to build a normal relationship”, the President Milorad Dodik said.
The President Dodik pointed out that discussions with China will be conducted on an equal footing.
“China does not want to impose a monopoly on the West, but the West wants to impose a monopoly on China”, the President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik said.
