The President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik and Serb member of the Presidency of BiH Željka Cvijanović met today in Antalya, on the second day of the International Diplomatic Forum, with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Juraj Blanár.

The President Dodik said that during the meeting with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia, the political situation in the region was discussed, as well as BiH's European path and the constitutional position of Srpska on that path.

“The Minister Blanár is part of the team of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, who recently won the elections in Slovakia. We discussed supporting BiH on its European path on March 21. Our European path is incompatible with the illegal Schmidt and OHR structures. The Venice Commission stated this back in 2005, and we could see it in the recommendations for the 14 priorities. It is impossible to expect us to enter the negotiation process while those structures remain”, the President of the Republic of Srpska emphasized.

The President Dodik reiterated that the Republic of Srpska sees itself in the negotiation process.

“If Srpska is not seen, we are not those who are ready to move along European paths while diminishing Srpska’s strength. I explained to the Minister Blanár how BiH functions with illegal Schmidt and foreign judges in the Constitutional Court of BiH. If any decision on property is made by chance, the Republic of Srpska will declare independence, and everyone knows that in the European Union”, said the President after the meeting.

The President Dodik emphasized, when it comes to the economy, that Srpska has good cooperation with Slovakia and highlighted Celex as one of the successful companies.

“The goal is to rescue the gasification project of the Republic of Srpska. I've done the math on how much we’ve lost because Bosniaks blocked that project and what benefits the Republic of Srpska would have because we would have the cheapest gas in Europe to offer”, said the President of Srpska.
