The Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Radovan Višković has met today in Banja Luka with the delegation of the International Monetary Fund Mission in BiH, led by the Mission Chief, Alina Iancu.
The current economic situation in the Republic of Srpska and BiH was discussed, and structural reforms and projects in the Republic of Srpska, for which the representatives of the IMF representatives provide technical support, were discussed at the meeting.
The Prime Minister Višković informed the IMF delegation about economic and fiscal indicators in the Republic of Srpska, and pointed out that the budget is stable and that all obligations are properly and regularly serviced, both according to budget categories and according to international financial institutions.
The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for the technical support provided by IMF experts to the institutions of the Republic of Srpska, especially when it comes to managing fiscal risks and supervising the work of public enterprises.
He pointed out that the Government of the Republic of Srpska is ready to reach an arrangement with the International Monetary Fund, but without measures that interfere with the constitutional arrangement of the Republic of Srpska.
The Prime Minister informed the delegation of the IMF Mission about the five main priorities that the Government was continuously working on, in accordance with the exposé, namely further economic development, digitization, reform of public enterprises, social protection of citizens, and demographic renewal.
The Prime Minister Višković and the Mission Chief Alina Iancu agreed that there is room for cooperation between the Government and the International Monetary Fund in these spheres.
