The President of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik, met today with the Director-General of the Directorate-General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission, Gert Jan Koopman, regarding the current political situation in the Republic of Srpska and BiH.
The President of the Republic emphasized that the decision to start accession negotiations represents a positive signal for continuing reform processes, emphasizing that domestic institutions and elected political representatives should be the sole relevant authorities for decision-making.
The President Dodik highlighted the importance of participating in the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans and underscored that the working team from the Republic of Srpska will be actively involved in this process.
The President of the Republic of Srpska stated that Srpska supports BiH’s European path, aiming to be visible while fully respecting its constitutional position and the Dayton structure of BiH.
The Serb member of the Presidency of BiH, Željka Cvijanović, and the Head of the European Union Delegation to BiH and EU Special Representative in BiH, Johann Sattler were also present at the meeting.
