The President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik has met today in Banja Luka with the Head of the European Union Delegation to BiH and the EU Special Representative in BiH, Johann Sattler.
The President Dodik pointed out that Srpska supports BiH’s European path, on which it wants to be visible in accordance with the coordination mechanism and with full respect for its constitutional position, as well as the Dayton structure of BiH.
The President of the Republic reiterated that 14 key priorities from the Opinion of the European Commission should be resolved together, not separately, and emphasized that BiH is a negotiating party on the way to the EU.
The President Dodik told the Ambassador Sattler that he expected the agreement of the joint level on the resolution and unblocking of many important strategic projects in the near future, and that Srpska will not tolerate further blocking of projects.
Referring to the Ambassador Sattler’s congratulation on the occasion of March 1 “to all male and female citizens”, the President of the Republic said that March 1 can be a holiday of the Bosniak people and that Srpska will not dispute it, but that March 1 is not, nor can it be, a joint holiday in BiH.
The President of Srpska pointed out that there is no law that prescribes March 1 as a holiday in BiH and that the date was a prelude to the civil war in BiH and that Srpska can never celebrate it.
