The Serb member of the Presidency of BiH, Željka Cvijanović, met today on the sidelines of the 11th Global Baku Forum with the President of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, Dennis Francis. She acquainted him with the views and positions of the Republic of Srpska regarding the current situation in BiH.
During the conversation, the Serb member of the Presidency of BiH Cvijanović emphasized the commitment of the Republic of Srpska’s institutions and its representatives to the European path, while consistently respecting the Dayton Peace Agreement and the Constitution of BiH. She highlighted that dialogue and agreement among democratically elected representatives of the people are crucial for BiH’s progress. She also pointed out that foreign interventionism and imposition of decisions by unelected representatives of the international community are not in line with democratic principles and rule of law, and do not contribute to the preservation of political and institutional stability in BiH.
Regarding the information about the presentation of a new Resolution on Srebrenica, the Serb member of the Presidency of BiH informed the President of the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly that the Presidency of BiH was not consulted on this matter, emphasizing that any such activities are considered unilateral actions.
During this meeting, the interlocutors also exchanged views on other current issues and discussed common approaches aimed at sustainable progress in the country and beyond, as well as overcoming global challenges facing the modern world.
